Many years ago, it was gold stashes that people sought in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona. These days, folks trudge hours for photo ops like this one of the “Wave Cave” taken by local hiker/photographer Chirag A. Patel.

Wave Cave is a popular hiking destination in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona. This very scenic trail may be considered a little short by avid hikers, yet it provides a good workout due to the steep and slippery route up to the cave.
Wave Cave Trail near Gold Canyon is rated moderate and roughly 3 miles (5 km) out and back. It’s heavily trafficked due to it’s popularity. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used in the cooler months of September to April. Dogs must be kept on leash.
