Near the top of Telegraph Pass trail on South Mountain sits a unique structure made of stone that many locals refer to as “the Sanctuary.” An uncovered building, the Sanctuary provides no protection from the occasional desert rain. However, those seeking relief from intense Arizona sun rays can find some shade here.
